Shope Creek Wilderness
Shope Creek Wilderness is located on 131.6 acres in the foothills of the Blue Ridge mountains 10 miles from the center of Asheville, North Carolina.
The Blue Ridge Mountains are part of the Appalachian Chain, the oldest mountains in the United States.
We offer visitors the opportunity to experience themselves in novel and expanded ways. Our offerings include natural and man made attractions focused on personal alignment and realization of the “true self”. We call our energy based sessions “playdates”. We take full advantage of our forest setting, our flowing water resources, the numerous energy vortexes and being in the energetic “apron” of Mount Mitchell, the highest point on the Eastern Seaboard.
The story of Shope Creek Wilderness begins in a time before time with a covenant among beings who seeded this land and agreed to return at this time to assist in awakening energies and consciousness that have been long forgotten.
The story has grown and evolved to its current state of being about a living, learning center where the teachers are The Land, all the seen and unseen nature spirits and all beings who choose to visit.
Shope Creek Wilderness has taken root as we were called to bring six parcels of land back together to “re-member” this sacred, magical space and to experience and participate in the changes taking place on the planet at this time.
SHIFT HAPPENS
These are currently the core elements of the evolving story that is Shope Creek Wilderness:
A realization that everything is energy and all energy comes from the same Source.
Energy always seeks to move and expand and all things are malleable.
Anything and everything is possible.
Proper use of story is an excellent way to move energy and navigate life.
When you let go of what has been, you allow what can be. Simply let go, accept and allow.
You never have done nor will you ever do anything wrong. Every experience is unique and is Source Energy expressing as and through you expanding the universe/multiverse.
These elements and much, much more combine to create a space for those who choose to come, or come by chance, to receive exactly what they need and are ready for to further their life’s journey and to take those gifts back into the world.
There is no specific blueprint, currently in consciousness, for this story other than to let the land speak and direct us, to pierce the veil of the “one-off” experience of the world around us and to illuminate and to bring into clarity the unseen members of nature. When fairies, nature spirits, Yeti and dragons are perceived as real and as common place as cars, cell phones and televisions, a space will be opened for another level of magic and mystical to emerge …
and then, the real fun will begin.

Shope Creek Wilderness Experience
A visit may include time in the forest, conversation, creative work, music, movement, wellness practices, time alone, experiences with practitioners, or simply sitting quietly enough to notice something you hadn't noticed before.
The point is not the modality. The point is what becomes available when normal noise is reduced.
We let go of what has been, and we allow what can be.

This is the Field of Infinite Possibility. The land itself is that field — a place beyond judgment, where what becomes possible is not determined by what came before.

There is nothing to heal. It is simply blocked energy.
Alignment with our true selves helps us recognize the blockages. The modalities and experiences available at Shope Creek Wilderness help clear them.
✦ When the Land Is Shared
What happens when
land is shared?
On September 11, 2019, Shope Creek Wilderness filed for nonprofit status as a 501(c)(3).
Its mission is to move children and adults beyond the idea of nature deficit disorder, helping them reconnect with the natural world in any way possible.
This allowed the land to practice sharing: giving without anticipation of receipt.
Forest Floor is an example of that principle in action.
Forest Floor began small.
Two counselors. Nine kids. A piece of land.
Over time, hundreds of young people and adults experienced the forest through the program.
Shope Creek Wilderness did not have to invent the children's experience. It made the land available. Something grew.
The program's growth demonstrates the value and success of the sharing concept.

When the land needed
something back.
After Hurricane Helene damaged Shope Creek Wilderness, neighbors and community members arrived to help. People brought:

Conscious Biology
In addition to Forest Floor, the current offerings include the Center for Conscious Biology.
Joda Williams is developing an approach she calls Conscious Biology, bringing together her work around human potential, nutrition, botanical practices, coaching and other wellness modalities.
Shope Creek Wilderness provides a setting for exploration and development of that work.
